Organizer v1.0 (14.3 kb)
Updated on 21 Jul 2000 |

Now you can have your awards properly organized without the stress of finding a cataloging system. The award organizer is very simple to use and easy to merge into your current website!
One of the most important criteria of the "Award Sites! Hall of Recognition Awards" are that your awards must be listed under their respective ratings for verification reasons. The award organizer is designed to do just that! But there is more... It also allows you to insert the value of each achieved award, making it easier for you
to keep track of your current score, and how much you need to qualify for any of the 3 prestigious awards.
Level 5.0 awards are the most prestigious awards available on the web today. But when
Award Sites! awards YOU the Hall of Recognition Award, you know it's simply the best! It is certainly worth all the effort of organizing your website awards! The Files: In combination, the files are in fact a small "awards index" site, complete with fixed tables and hyperlinks to all of the respected pages. All the pages are closely linked to each other to enable your visitors an easy jump from one ratings list to another,
without having to use the back button of their browsers.
Each listing page has 20 rows, which can be easily adjusted, if necessary, as your collection grows. The following necessary fields are included:
- Date
- Type/Name of Award (Gold; Silver etc)
- Award giver's Website Title
- Points earned (Award Value) for achieved award
Setting up hyperlinks to the award graphics and respective award programs is also possible. You can use the award's name (i.e. "gold") to link to the location of the award's graphic on your website, and you can use the "Website Title" fields to establish a link to the respective award program's website! Merging the organizer into your site
It's entirely up to you how you want to display your award graphics, and whether you choose to include comments made by site evaluators or not.
From experience we can say that the way you present your achievements can sway new applications in your favor. Do a good job with it and you may need to win fewer awards to achieve the Hall of recognition award.
This is how:
Step 1 (Getting started and Modifying the Templates)
You need to...
- Create a new directory inside your website
- Extract the files and copy them into the new directory
- Edit the pages by applying your own backgrounds, colors, stylesheet links (css files), etc
Step 2 (Organizing your awards)
- Inside your images directory, create directories for all respective ratings
- Go to Awards Sites! and verify each of your awards, including upgraded awards, and copy your award images to the correct directory.
- Edit the respective Ratings pages, (Insert date, name, website) and establish links to the award giver's website. (Don't worry about the award image link yet - see step 3)
- Insert the correct "value" for each achieved award (See SA! "Halls" criteria page)
Step 3 (Linking the Awards)
- All your rated awards are now copied to the correct directories.
- You can use your existing pages if you choose to include comments, or create new pages for showing the awards under their respective ratings. What ever you choose to do, ensure that the award graphics are properly linked (no broken URL?s to the images).
- Establish hyperlinks from the "Listing pages" to the page where you show your images. Do not forget to include a link back to the listing page!
Step 4 (Testing)
- Always test the list before you upload them!
- Things you should look at are:
- Hyperlinks between the listings
- All images are properly linked
- Hyperlinks from the listing to the Award's graphic page
- Hyperlinks back from Award's graphic page to the listing
- Hyperlinks to your Award Givers
Step 5 (Upload!)
- Let us know when you're done! E-mail (TEXT MODE ONLY PLEASE) us at
webmaster@maestroawards.com
- Please direct questions related to these files to us - NOT to
Award Sites!
- View our Website to see this system in working order. Our accolades are listed here.
Linking to our website is NOT required, but is very much appreciated!
It is always fun looking back on previous website achievements! This is also the best opportunity to check the validity of your site links! We wish you a lot of fun re-arranging your precious web accolades! * These files can also be downloaded from
Award Sites! (Select "Halls" from the menu).
NOTE: Files are saved as "RAR" files, which opens with WinRAR. However,
changing the .rar extension to .zip will allow you to open the file with WinZip
