Punctuation and spelling...

Proofread all your pages, and look for the obvious errors. Check for possible spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. Use any available word processor to do the task for you.

Since word processors and spelling checkers can't detect "common sense", you might as well do some reading work as well, to see if some of your sentences make sense or need re-wording! If you are not sure about the meaning or spelling of some words, consult the online dictionary.

HTML Coding...

Imagine tagging all invisible images with a tag "invisible"!

If you use WYSIWYG editors such as FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver, you may experience a huge W3C error report, since some web elements such as Flash, DHTML, Java and other technologies are not recognized as part of the HTML language...

Try any of the following validation services below:

Also, very crucial to any website's success is a decent working navigation system. There is nothing worse than non-functional navigation system - especially internal links! If you are using FrontPage 98/2000 or similar, you can easily let the program check all your links (internal and external). Also use any of the following online services to check the validity of your links:

Test all your programs, applications and scripts! Cross check them in different browsers, and make adjustments where necessary. JavaScript errors will not win you any awards, especially if they crash the reviewer's browser! Also, you may want to inform your visitors beforehand which plug-ins are required to view your website properly.

Finally, you may do some tests with different screen resolutions, colors, download times and browser compatibility. The standard used by all evaluators are 800 x 600 pixels, high color and a maximum of 30 seconds with a 56 kbps modem.
